i don't think anyone was butching about schools. But getting young ones taken care of will make everything easier for mom and dad as they deal with clean uo, employers, and other huge issues

Bring gloves, masks, rubber boots and a flat bar and exit I-12 at Walker, Denham Springs or Millerville and drive through the subdivisions looking for houses to gut. The ones with the smallest debris piles will give you a clue where they are in the process.

This. There is no shortage of people that need help. Many haven't even began the recovery process.

FB is a good source to find those in need of help. The elderly and expecting parents seem to be some of the hardest hit by this. I can't tell you how many stories of expecting parents who lost all of their baby shower stuff I've heard. Especially difficult situation if they have no family in the area.

I'm surprised that drywall and wainscotting are not already in short supply. I'd order now and stockpile it in the garage even if the house wasn't ready.

Livingston parish.

You can just go to a local church there and they will send you to someone in need.

I went and helped out a couple of days. Gutting houses, getting good food and luke warm Yuenglings.
It really does look like the days after Katrina in Denham.
