Yep, saw some drama queens freaking out in other threads when the euro was showing 40"+ of rain. Most knew that wasnt going to happen but because the euro showed it, must be true.

Overall, the flood threat has actually decreased over the past several days as the models have trended towards any surface feature being farther inland.

The precip totals it WAS showing were ridiculous, the more realistic totals now are still not good at all.

If we get the 12" of rain they are currently saying, there will be flooding.

Bring it on bitch. I've got flood insurance for the first time. (N LA scared me last year.)

I raised my house another foot last year because the water got a little too close for comfort one time. It was flowing like a creek around my house, and just hanging out in the back. Got almost to the top of one row of blocks, but didn't get to the sill plate

The Euro has struggled with QPF since the upgrade, esp. in the 7-10 day range. However, there would have been some crazy totals if a broad surface low developed right on the coast and slowly drifted west with a constant onshore fetch. It was obvious that the models would struggle with this setup given the complex nature of it and the uncertainty that the Pacific was causing downstream across North America.

Hopefully weather will not affect this coming Football season for SEC folks. Seems like the Gulf's been quiet for a few years now.

The Baton Rouge area will NOT get this much rain... Serious... MAYBE 3-4 inches... The system will not get this far before going north...

This could happen... But I just don't see it getting that far west... The MID gulf coast could be in for some bad flooding. MISS- Bama for sure....

Biloxi on Wednesday would be a bad idea? I have to travel through there.

Looks like a major event for the Florida gulf coast, from Pensacola to Tampa. For Louisiana, just some cooling rain showers.
