I can't speak for other Parishes, but ours recently had a refugee family from an African country here. Catholic Charities assisted with their initial food/shelter/healthcare needs and our Parish got the kids into classes once they had enough command of the language, they ended up in a spare rental property (donated) by a Parishoner, and others help the adults secure gainful employment.
If you think Catholic Charities BR is just going to set them up at the Alamo Plaza Motel and direct them to the DCFS office to get their La Purchase Card, you're mistaken.

Actually no, there are not.
In order to be a refugee (legally), one must pass a background check, go through extensive interviews, etc. to uncover bad apples. People who get legal refugee status are much more carefully screened than usual.
They should be fine. In ten years there will be plenty of small businesses doing generally well. Some of them will serve yummy food for lunch too.

Look, I realize that everyone wants to focus on the Little kids and the babies and the young people, the innocent people. And I feel for them, I really do.
If it's just a small amount of people coming here cleared by catholic charities (so hopefully catholic) then that's great. Wish them the best.
But when you look at what is happening in Europe it's not only families. It's impressionable Young men from a radicalized Muslim country. The writing on the wall is the downfall of Europe as we know it.
Large numbers of restless young men from a foreign society that is at odds with Western culture is a recipe for disaster.
Overtaxing the generous social safety net systems will only breed societal unrest. So call me a monster for saying I wish the Europeans would tell the refugees to find somewhere else.
It is their blood, and your children's and children's children's blood that will flow when the Great War comes to pass.
Look to history. Look to trends. I'm not making this stuff up. It doesn't end well. Western society may well be wiped out.
