I dont necessarily go to the dog park to be social, I leave that up to my dogs. The vast majority of the time I just want to come and sit down and decompress while my dog let's off some steam.
I have no problem speaking and being cordial, but I dont want to really make small talk and strike up a conversation.

Dogs go to the dog park to socialize. People don’t; they shouldn’t be bothering other people with their small talk.
