He wasn't the best writer or vocalist in the band, and I think he was a little too keen on transforming them into a pop group, but his skills as a producer/co-writer were the single greatest asset in turning their trainwreck of personalities into a cohesive artistic collaboration. He sacrificed his time, money, and creative freedom near the peak of his solo career to help make Tango in the Night as a last hurrah for the band. Stevie was so fricked up during recording that he had to create her lyrics nearly whole cloth, syllable by syllable from her vocal tracks.

I’ve seen pretty much every incarnation of Fleetwood Mac since the original Peter Green days and what Lindsey brings to the table can’t be replaced. The guy is a genius.
