I’ve never understood how anyone can on one hand say they support “seperation of Church and state” but on the other hand want churches and religious organizations to pay taxes. Where’s the logic in that?

Just a general statement that this thread reminded me of. It’s been my experence that oftentimes those who are most vocal about seperation of Church and state also are mad that churches are tax exempt. It’s always baffled me how they fail to see the contradiction in their stances.

It bothers me that churches like Scientology are able to amass vast real estate holdings and wealth tax free and are able to use funds to be extremely litigious, to buy luxury cars, etc. I think it goes against the intent of tax exemption status.

If they only raise the flag half way, but they're still paid the full amount, you get half the productivity for the same amount so it costs money.
