It figures you’d deflect from the substance of that post.

No. I don't vote R or D for president.
He's 1000x the man Biden is though.

idiot
Disney claims to pay over 200M in taxes each year, but only writes a check to the county for 40M. Now they will have to pay the whole bill. Which is probably based on drastically reduced assessments anyway.
That billion dollars will be paid off in 3 years with legitimate assessments, without a single dime of taxpayer money, once Disney coughs up the what is really owed to the county

substance of that post.
Not once in your E-life have you contributed an original thought that added any substance. You aren't capable of doing that.
You are owned 100% by white progressives who tell you everything you then come here and repeat.
The "don't say Gay bill" is pure manipulation of you, by white people.

Disney on top of disagreeing with the dont say gay bill, also stopped donating to all politicians. It could be argued that Ron was more unhappy about Disney not donating to politicians than their stances in general.
How much did they give to him previously?
Did they give anything to his last opponent as well?

Posted on 4/22/22 at 10:29 am to RogerTheShrubber
I can respect that.

Yep.
ETA: They don't even have to do that though. They could simply pass a property tax that applies only to "entities of certain size/revenue level" or however they need to word it to enact a tax that brings Disney to the level of taxation they were providing to RCID and Orange County combined previously, and then use that increase to pay for the general obligation warrants.
Nope.

State law prevents the counties from raising sales taxes or impact fees to cover the costs. They also must tax all areas of the county equally, meaning whatever they enact must apply to everyone.

I like how we pretend bills have never been giving different monikers. “Obamacare” is no where in the ACA bill, but nobody loses their mind when it’s called that.

"Don't say gay" is pure emotional appeal that comes nothing close to what is happening. Its simple propaganda that you bought.
You people are so fricking dumb. No wonder you NEED collectivism and feminism. You can't survive without.

I wouldn’t know the answers to those questions, but one would think that an apolitical approach with donations would keep Ron from going off the deep end.

Yeah, the "don't say gay" stuff is dumb.
It should be called the groomers bill for pedophiles. Bunch of sick fricks.

Reedy Creek (Disney) is a self-governing special tax district. They have something like a billion in bond obligations. Just because Reedy Creek goes away doesn’t mean the debt magically disappears. It is absorbed by the area where the tax district existed, which is the county. So now those county taxpayers are on the hook.
I get it. But couldn't the county then just raise tax on Disney?

And you are ignoring the fact Disney will still require water, sewage, law enforcement and fire protection they no longer have and will have to pay the counties for through increased taxes.
Everybody is losing in this nonsense not just local; governments.
I don’t know specifics to Florida and counties with various fees or taxes (including sales tax), but elsewhere I have seen local govt have an easy time increasing the price on higher usage levels of garbage, water, and sewage on top of increasing exemption amounts while raising property taxes. Throw in increasing permit fees and other fees like for zoning and planning that Disney hasn’t had to pay since the 60s I am sure Disney will make up any differences in revenue one way or the other.
They can also redo a new tax district but under the state’s current constitution instead of the one in place in the 60s that got grandfathered in with new constitution.
This district has been challenged in the past. I think Orange County did it before, but then accepted millions from Disney to not challenge it again until mid to late 90s. Since then Orange has become overwhelming Democrat, and suddenly for some reason (hint-2022 & 2024 elections) these Democrats act like they don’t know how to tax and spend and also that they love crony capitalism and corporate welfare.
