I deal with attorneys regularly and yes regardless of going to court or contract negation you're presenting an argument.

I like to make it a 2 step motion and pull with my lats and back to a certain point then pull the rest with my arms. This will also help in set up for other things like bench press getting your lats and back in position.

I like to do what I call Frankensteins for my lower lats. It's where you do a "tricep press down" but don't bend the elbows and pull with the lats.
