Doubt it.

Although it was probably most accurate that day since it was very little random movement and a continuous cadence for most of the day.

I beg to differ. I walked 4 miles on the track and when I finished my Fitbit said I walked 3.99 miles. I'd say that's pretty darn accurate

"Work"?

It's meant to be a relative tool. How active are you one day vs another. Eventually, you know what number you need to get to in order to reach a certain amount of activity.

25k on a day with my wife and I in NYC. We walked from midtown east to Central Park, to the Natural History Museum, back to midtown east. Then we walked around midtown and Times Square for the night.

That's actually walking. I did a half marathon one day with it and had something stupid like 35k.

A marathon by itself should be around 30-35k. But being at Disney we walked around a ton that afternoon too.

I'm very active. I walk 3 miles just about every morning and I know it's 3 miles because I measured it with my car. The FB was off.

Actually, a marathon should be around 50,000. You can almost guarantee that 1 mile equates to 2,000 steps.

Steps yeah. If you walk it. But if you run it it's less depending on your stride.
