Neither look great, but I prefer B.

Real question is which one has the hole in the stall in the 3rd floor bathroom.

That's kind of the problem. The library can't actually store books or give students a place to study because it's falling apart.
Any roof would be an improvement over the current roof if it is pitched and water can run off of it. So I will take A or B.
There's a lot of bullshite buildings at LSU... but a new library is actually needed. That's a GREAT thing for campus.

It looks like they're thinking big. I know many will bitch about the design but it looks modern and a very substantial project. LSU needs this

LSU had a library?

I voted to go back to the drawing board. Most of the architecture on the LSU campus is Italian Renaissance. Stick with that theme. Italian Renaissance is an excellent statement for an inspirational learning environment. I'm not a fan of architecture with brutalist leanings at all.

Looks like they'll be taking out the Business & Tech Ctr, the Industrial Ed Shop, and the Vet Science Poultry Bldg to have the space for this one next to Tureaud Hall. On the bright side, it'll look a ton better than Tureaud does.

both look like they will have roof leak problems, not much different then the current one

People don’t realize that we’re also getting to vote on the name
A stands for Alton sterling and b stands for Biden

Neither look great. Might as well be the IRS building.

And MSU has some glorious campus. Go pound sand.

Pretty sure they will move this to where op stated.. they will then convert the present library back to green space like it was before they put Middleton.. look at it from above and you can see the original quad.. was under the impression it will be set up for more modern electronics than just old books and paper.

Fwiw if you want to see a nice old school library walk through hill memorial library on Exxon square in the quad.. it also has a lot of historic stuff and maps on display.. it is very cool..

I was there ~2000 and it needed some TLC then.

It's B and it's not close

Also not a fan of either option, but from the two options I'd elect B. Seems as if these designs are trying to tie in the modern architectures of PFT and the BEC to the quads renaissance architecture.
