Too bad this won't be fully operational for hurricane season. However, I think they might pull some strings for a big time storm. The rapid scan images are going to be mind blowing.

Could more informed posters explain why this is awesome ? Obviously the pics look better than the old one, but what info will we have access to now ?

I think we just went from black and white to color tv here. But then again I don't know shite and I'm too lazy to google it.
