He isn't bragging, when he does its about killing a bunch of Hajis from 1000 yards or buying his family members all new cars...including an Audi A8 for his wife. Bush is legit.

I don't really start threads. I was just asking for some input from people who have been in this position. Ain't bragging about anything. The whole thing really sucks

My Yankee cousin killed the biggest deer I've ever seen on the UP in Michigan last year. You ever been around that area?

And I'm really sorry when I do that. I'm usually pretty drunk. My apologies to the board.

This used to be my uncle's job. He would go around to different worksites firing people so the managers wouldn't have to. He's kind of an a-hole.

You don't to apologize to me bro! I used to be the worst on here about doing that butI have been working on it. Sometimes it is tough not to share a cool story though, I totally get it!

I am sorry you have to do this, it sucks firing older people with families, but you should at least think about what I suggested earlier. I have had to fire over 100 people and most went a lot better than I expected so don't worry about it beforehand, just have a plan going in and someone sitting in to witness it if you can't get them to quit and you have to let them go.

Yes. My family used to rent cabins up there and we'd spend a week fishing, hiking, and riding my dads jeep on all the trails. My Grandma is from here, so we try and make it up every few years.

I'm not that guy. I'm just high up in the engineering org chart and it's a hard money job. I really like a couple of these guys and Monday is gonna suck.

Just trying to get some feedback.

Well I gave you some but here is some more! Being closer to them might make it easier. Ask them to give you an HONEST assessment of how they think their work has been. Once they admit it has been subpar it makes everything else easier, MUCH easier!

I have someone in my family like that too. The only difference, is that he's the one that usually hires the guys he fires. He takes great pride in firing people, and apparently he does it often. Strangely, it's never occurred to this a-hole, that if he's continually firing the people he's hiring, maybe he sucks arse at his job too...
