What constitutes an "attempted burglary"? Did the sister call the cops before or after Seth started shooting? If before, how long before? How did Seth establish that he was shooting the right people?
It's all so friggin' stupid. Those kids might have been complete assholes and up to no good that night, but I still don't see how shooting them was even remotely justified. On the other hand, they may have been absolute model citizens who were the innocent victims of a paranoid drug user's delusions. Reality probably falls between these two scenarios.

Not that it means anything..... just a kid (18) who was mad because he worked a full tome job and went to school full time and got ticked because people kept breaking into his truck, his Moms car and his sisters car. (all brought out in trial)
You are right. None of that means anything.

His sister called right away and reported the attemptd burglary. Cop didn't bother showing up
Yea that's not at all what happened
Sister called 911.
Dispatcher gave the wrong address to cop.
Cop shows up at wrong address (around river ranch) and called the reporting number seths cell phone) back.
Sister answers and doesn't give cop the real address when he informs her he's at the wrong location. She instead hangs up on him
Cop calls the number again.
Fontenot answered and says he thought he heard someone trying to break into his truck
Officer asked if he saw anyone, Seth said "no" though he later claimed to see two individuals running from his house.
Seth said he did see a white or silver truck driving by
Officer asked Seth he wanted an officer to come by or to fill out a report. And he said no then hung up
That's what actually happened as far as officers being called out about the "attempted burglary"
That's actually in the transcript and the officer who received the call that night testified to that.

So Seth knew he fricked up.
Did you miss all that in court Lilly?

This all happened about 1:30 or 2:00am, correct? The three teens drive to the ER, one dead or dying. How bad are the other two hurt? When do the cops get to the ER? Did the kids stonewall them?
I don't understand how the police weren't knocking on Fontenot's door within an hour or so. If the dead kid only lived a few doors away from Fontenot, the other two couldn't very well claim to be confused about where the shooting took place. Seems like they cops would have out there right away.

Neither of the boys were familiar with the neighborhood because it was Austin Rivault who lived in the neighborhood
They told officers the name of the neighborhood after they were operated on in the hospital. So there's some delay there.
There were no calls of shots fired that night anywhere in Lafayette, so they couldnt match it up with an exact address
Officers spent all night doing a foot search through the neighborhood looking for evidence of a shooting
they found shells in front of fontenot's house around 8 or 9 at which point, fontenot's dad said he was at work
this was all testified to at the trial
Lilly either wasnt at the trial and is lying, was at the trial and misunderstood what she was heard, was at the trial and is lying about what she heard, or missed some parts

she just needs to answer some questions with facts. She keeps beating around the bush, and sounds more like a family member or close friend to Fontenot.

the only people in that trial everyday were family members and close friends of the parties, attorneys, and press

I don't feel like going through this whole thread. Was he found guilty?

It's fascinating that there are such strong differing opinions on the incident and trial. Like some other people have a totally different version of reality.
It's as if I could just shoot at anyone I want and people would come out of the woodwork to defend me...law be damned.
Seth fricked up and and killed someone needlessly. He knows it.
I'm thinking about getting rid of my handgun because of this story. Seth will be ok but he needs to serve some time.

Crazy and sad story...
Initially, it seemed that there might be more to the story and some history between Seth and the other kids (not that it would have provided any legal justification for the shooting). But if these kids were just complete strangers to Fontenot, dropping off Rivault at home and ended up getting shot, that's even more fricked up.

And that is your prerogative, not matter how ridiculous we may think you are being by doing that.

My answer to that would be the same as I tell anyone who is thinking about getting a gun for the first time. I carried a gun professionally for the majority of my adult life. I fully appreciated the reality of what it was like to take a life. Anyone who can't appreciate that shouldn't have a firearm. Anyone, including this guy, who would think it is OK to throw a couple of shots at someone and then go back to bed doesn't need to have a gun. When you pull the trigger, you should assume the other person is going to die. I never understood folks who think it is OK to threaten with a gun or just "shoot a round their way to scare them." That is the height of idiocy to me. But that is what Manslaughter is for I guess.

you left out the jury...they were there every day.
Like I said - I could give a rats arse who believes me or not - but there is so much misinformation
And there was no transcript or recording of the 911 call - just a report of a officer.... that had mistakes all over it to cover his own tracks ! yep ! Mayberry

they said they were to scared to call 911,( but yet their good friend was bleeding out in the back seat)....
For those truly interested in the truth the Baton R. Advocate had a good write up on all the car break ins in that area

Again, tell us about the misinformation. Tell us about the suppressed evidence. Tell us about the witch hunt.
Actually, forget all of that. Just tell me how you feel Seth was legally justified in shooting these other kids.

All 911 calls are recorded. You are a lying sack of shite, just admit it.
Posted on 4/10/15 at 5:56 pm to LILLY100
Why were they too scared to call 911? That's a moronic explanation. One, or both, had the composure to call home.
Twice, you've mentioned them letting their friend "bleed out". Wasn't he shot in the head? What did you want them to do?
