Wasn't there a good bit of character assassination taking place on both legal sides?

Most of the information suppressed was not given to the jury, but maybe it will come out in appeal.

DA tried to make Fontenot out to be a adderal slingin drug kingpin who's vehicles kept getting broken into because he was dealing so it was probably just junkies breaking in.

From experience: police rarely dust cars.

I'm sure he didn't kill somebody because he was worried about losing some $10 CD's and a few adderall's. It's the fact that someone repeatedly keeps disrespecting you at place you should feel safest.

Was ANY vehicle burglarized in Fontenot's driveway the night of the shooting?

Even in Mayberry you can't go in your front yard and fire a gun at a car going down the street. Andy would slap the cuffs on you with the quickness. Otis would be asking you if you were drunk or stupid.

Which actually sounds like a plausible explanation. Why would burglars keep going back to one vehicle? It seems dangerous, unless they knew there was something worth taking the risk for.

I really don't think that matters. And as a juror, I wouldn't put much weight on it honestly. If there house/cars had been burglarized several times, whether or not it happened on the night of the shooting is immaterial.

After all three got shot, the kids in the truck drove to the hospital, correct? When were the police called and who called them? Did the kids lie to the cops about what happened and/or where they were?

Did the cops speak to Fontenot during the night? I was under the impression that his first contact with the police was when they arrested him at work the next morning.

I am sure the hospital contacted them. But I want to say that they called their parents on the way there right? They didn't call 911 from what I remember. I could be wrong.

You are correct. And he didn't even know he had struck anyone much less killed anyone.

Why didn't Seth call the police?

Did he ever report a burglary before his arrest? Honest question.

So, no vehicle break-in that night and the kids are in someone else's truck, correct? Yet, something alerts Fontenot, and being an idiot, he decides to start shooting at an unfamiliar vehicle because it's driving slowly down his street with the headlights off? Awesome. This guy may be even dumber than I originally thought.

This just occurred to me. He fired three shots at a moving vehicle and he didn't call the cops? Just said "oh well" and went back to sleep?

What world does this dude live in? Makes it look like he didn't want the cops involved.

I've also heard that one of them called his parents after the shooting. I assume the kids were drinking, they were leaving a party, but I don't know that for certain. I'm sure they were shitting in their pants, especially if they really were just driving down the street and some a-hole appeared out of the blue and started shooting at them.

And then got up and went to work the next morning. Either he truly didn't think he hit anyone or he's a sociopath. Didn't this a happen in decent neighborhood? Nobody called the cops to report gunfire?
