- he sold a few adderal tablets.

It is a witch hunt....

I bet most of the UL students take this med or sell a pill to a friend who needs to stay up to study for test.

Which won't mean shite when he gets sentenced to 30+ years for the manslaughter conviction.

If you walk out in the street and shoot at a vehicle and kill a kid what would you expect ? It never was 1st degree murder and was an easy manslaughter conviction from day 1.

Well nice tradeoff. Now Fontenot is a convict with a fricked up life, and we'll be paying for his bed for the next several years. If his family isn't loaded, he'll never get back on his feet.

This is such a shitty situation. Maybe I just need to read the files but I can't decide what I think about this case.

Really is a bad situation all around.

I know it's the law you can't shoot a fleeing suspect, but If someone is continuously burglarizing your property, you have to send them a message somehow. Am I saying the kid deserved to die? No.

But I understand wanting to pop off a round in frustration after multiple burglaries. Anyone who feels ok taking someone else's property is a worthless human being anyway.

So is a Seth a family member or a friend? This is the second thread you've bumped to tell us how unfairly the case went...

I can understand the frustration, but you wouldn't fire several rounds of hollow point .9mm ammo at an occupied vehicle.

So then you're ok with that cop firing at the fleeing convict right?

I don't know if the teenage kids were innocent or if they were up to no good...

I do know this is not the wild west. the guy shot three consecutive rounds into a moving vehicle and managed to hit all three occupants. He killed one. Sad to say but the dude needs to spend time in jail.

I said I understand the frustration of continuously being burglarized. Is he supposed to just accept that people can come take his shite whenever they want?

Again, I don't think it was smart, and he should be punished. I just don't think his life should be ruined

The cop situation was not the same

If you want to go to prison for 30 to life for someone stealing property go for it. He obviously lived in delusion if he thought what he did was even remotely acceptable.

I understand where you are coming from. But the kid he killed and the kid's family members have their lives ruined due to his actions. He decided to use deadly force.

Like I said.

Not smart, but I can understand wanting to do something. What's going to stop it from continuing if you sit back and do nothing?

Obviously unloading on the fleeing truck wasn't the smartest option, I'm just saying I can understand the frustration. Not the same as saying I approve of him killing the kid.

Popping off a few shots AT someone and popping off a few "attention getter" shots are totally different.
Sucks having your stuff stolen, but a life in jail isn't worth the price of a stereo and speakers.

Was Fontenot's truck actually burglarized again the night of the shooting? If he'd shot them in the act, though still illegal, he would have gained much more public sympathy.

As I understand it, the kids left a party in someone's else's truck and were dropping off one of them who lived or was spending the night in Fontenot's neighborhood. They roll slowly by Fontenot's house, so he makes the logic leap that they're the theives and he starts shooting. Seth ought to be in jail for aggravated stupidity, if not murder.

Seriously, is Seth Fontenot a little bit retarded?
