Meh. They’re not the ones getting hosed by this.

Sucks for all of us who have daughters though.

Our daughters are the ones getting hosed. The regular girls/young women. But, even though they didn’t start it or ask for it, it’s their fight, and they’re gonna have to be the ones to reluctantly take up the torch and win it. Nobody wants to hear from males on this issue, obviously right as we may be. They are the only ones with the power, and they have plenty if they would only come together and get behind it unified.

It is strange but if you google the study and the name of the person who reported this it is very easy to find. What is not easy to find in the study which is referenced is any mention of any medals being lost for any reason to anyone. Interestingly enough the study referenced in the NY Post article does indeed mention that 27% of women athletes report being victims of sexual assault while participating in sports. Really strange that so many media outlets like Fox (its there) and The Daily Mail (its there) The National Review (its there) reference the same study when reporting on these 900 medals lost yet the referenced study does not mention anything about it. Stranger yet that the study does indeed mention the 27% reporting of sexual assault, in fact that is the main gist of the article, and none of those media outlets mention that staggering number at all. Very strange indeed that the article says the study indicates one thing which the study does no mention and the article says bupkus about what the study actually mentions throughout the study report.

Even more so what about the number of females who have lost interest/become intimidated or lost out on economical benefits/scholarships because of this garbage?

Even more so what about the 27% of female athletes in the study who reported being sexually assaulted while participating in sports. Thats what the study that the article referenced reported...there was nothing in the study that the linked article referenced about anyone losing any medals to anyone for any reason.....but thats the take away, not that the same study reported that 27% of female athletes reported being sexually assaulted while participating in sports.

I have yet to see a picture with two or more competitors of which one was born a male in which I needed more than half a second to pick out the dude.

BUT with that many dudes willing to declare themselves female, how many boulders did we have to turn over to get that many dudes with attitudes? Do they expect to have any life at all beyond their competitions?

I mean it's in the study:
quote:

Policies implemented by international federations and national governing bodies, along with national legislation in some countries, allow males who identify as women to compete in female sports categories. 28 In other cases, this practice is not explicitly prohibited and is thus tolerated in practice. The replacement of the female sports category with a mixed-sex category has resulted in an increasing number of
female athletes losing opportunities, including medals, when competing against males. According to information received, by 30 March 2024, over 600 female
athletes in more than 400 competitions have lost more than 890 medals in 29 different sports.29

12. Male athletes have specific attributes considered advantageous in certain sports, such as strength and testosterone levels that are higher than those of the average range for females, even before puberty,30 thereby resulting in the loss of fair opportunity. Some sports federations mandate testosterone suppression for athletes in order to qualify for female categories in elite sports. However, pharmaceutical testosterone suppression for genetically male athletes – irrespective of how they identify – will not eliminate the set of comparative performance advantages they have already acquired.31 This approach may not only harm the health of the athlete concerned, but it also fails to achieve its stated objective. Therefore, the testosterone levels deemed acceptable by any sporting body are, at best, not evidence-based, arbitrary32 and asymmetrically favour males.33 Females are usually tested randomly to ensure that they are not using performance-enhancing drugs, while males are often not monitored to ensure that they are taking testosterone suppression drugs. 34 To avoid the loss of a fair opportunity, males must not compete in the female categories of sport.

It does address several different forms of violence including sexual
quote:

Sexual harassment and abuse of women and girls in sport are rampant. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) estimates that 21 per cent of girls globally have experienced a form of sexual abuse at least once as a child in sport.53 In her report (A/HRC/40/51), the Special Rapporteur on the sale and sexual exploitation of children, including child prostitution, child pornography and other child sexual abuse material, highlighted numerous extremely serious cases of sexual exploitation of children in the context of sport.

21. Research reveals the prevalence of sexual violence in coach-athlete relationships,54 which often occur in locker rooms.55 Many girls are subjected to grooming,56 with trainers and coaches abusing the trust placed in them. Sexual abuse
cases have been reported that involve sports in Canada,57 gymnastics and track and field in the United States,58 the Haitian Football Federation,59 the Afghanistan Football Federation, the women’s national youth basketball team of Mali,60 the Cameroon Karate Federation, swimming and tennis federations in South Africa, the Rwanda Cycling Federation and the Wrestling Federation of India. 61

22. In addition, women and girls in sport are subjected to trafficking. 62 They are lured with the prospects of lucrative sport career, but this enticement often results in a dependency upon meagre funding that is controlled by sports authorities and coaches.63 With the increase in the popularity of women’s football, for example, female footballers, especially those from regions where female participation in football is not accepted, experience a heightened risk of predation, including
trafficking.64 There are indications that female athletes are trafficked for sexual exploitation,65 while others are prostituted66 and subjected to rape and forced abortion.

23. The line between appropriate and inappropriate physical contact can be blurred, leaving female athletes uncomfortable and uncertain about how to identify, respond to and stop sexual harassment.67 It is important to deal with such assaults firmly, as the Fe´de´ration Internationale de Football Association and Spain did in response to an unwelcome sexual advance towards a female athlete during the 2023 Women’s World Cup awards ceremony.

24. Removing single-sex spaces in sports may also increase the risk of sexual harassment, assault, voyeurism and physical and sexual attacks in unisex locker rooms and toilets.68 The insistence on maintaining female-only spaces, along with
safeguarding and risk management protocols, arises from empirical evidence demonstrating that sex offenders tend to be male and that persistent sex offenders go to great lengths to gain access to those they wish to abuse.

The only ones that celebrate this are the ones not competing. The problem is they are louder and have more political clout.

1. I believe sports should be segregated in biological sex.

We agree men and women are equals in society. the biological factor is why we even accept separate divisions in the first place.

2. This study is pretty broad, and its sources are pretty meh.

1. Website counts 1, 2nd and 3rd as “missed medals” if a trans athlete comes in first.

so that’s 3 medals lost when 2 were actually won by biological females.

it also includes literally every possible sport and every level. So High School to Rec League to Dart Semi-Pro across the world, going back to 2018

it’s a lot of disc golf, Darts and HS Track.

Is it weird that the United Nations is reporting on “violence against women in sports”? This doesn’t seem like it should rise to the level of a UN issue.
