Generators up to $800
Chainsaws up to $250
FEMA has approved funds for those who spent money on items like generators and chainsaws in the wake of the storm. Congressman Garret Graves said the program will cover generator expenses up to $800 and as much as $250 for chainsaws being used for clean-up.

If we already applied, do we just reapply or what? I’m confused on where to add this

Who don't already have a chainsaw?

Can I get $800 toward my whole home purchased well in advance as a prepared person? Or is it only for those who waited until the emergency was upon them?

Lake Charles did have station setup to apply for the generator and chainsaw. Some got approved and others didn’t, I did not.

Hmm... I went to where they setup and after waiting in line at the civic center was told they were not doing this.
Guess I ended up in the wrong line.

I’m guessing there is an income cutoff?

Wonder what the catch when applying for FEMA? Never done it before. I bought a generator because of this fiasco, no other damage other than missing work and sitting in the dark for a week.

Hell yeah I paid 800 for mine. Looks like I got it for free!!!

If it’s anything like Laura or Delta you better have a better reason for needing electricity than “it was hot”.

Dude in Louisiana.... in Sept...... the only reason you should need is “it’s hot”.
