Honest question, why?
Consider that million dollars benefits countless other students and funds scholarships and grants. Is that not completely and unequivocally worth having 1 dumb kid admitted? Also consider that 1 dumb kid with super rich parents probably also creates a network for other students and their careers.
I 100% agree from a pragmatic standpoint and if I was the chancellor of the university it would make total sense. It just grates on me that the one individual got a leg up simply b/c of the family they were born into and not anything they did.

14 whole days in prison.
She doesn’t have to report until October 25th so she can get her affairs in order before being behind bars for those long 14 days.

also sentenced to one year of supervised release, 250 hours of community service and a $30,000 fine, with a federal judge saying that despite all her advantages, “You took the step of obtaining one more advantage to put your child ahead of theirs.”
Sweet she gets to hang out for a year with her infinity pool after that long 14day sentence.

Well boo frickin' hoo.
The whole thing is stupid. They paid a million bucks to ge their kid into school. WHO CARES? AND IF YOU CARE, WHY DO YOU CARE?
This whole thing should be a non issue. It's just dumb.

Lots of white people suffer from a mental disorder called "white guilt".

I can't stand pro athletes and Hollywood elite... I hope Lauri Laughlin's smugg-arse goes to jail so I can laugh about it.... my wife says I am sadistic.... I just think I have jealous hate ...

Sounds like it.
You really shouldn't let people you don't know upset you so much.

The recommended sentence was originally 8-12 months and was shifted down to 4-10 months after the probation board recommended no time. Then the prosecutors asked for one month.
The judge then gave two weeks. How this is a statement for anything other than giving people token sentences (which I generally agree with for all except the most heavily involved people who are not the parents), I have no idea.

Spending a few nights in jail is actually a very good thing for Huffman in the long run.
If she doesn’t do anytime, I think it would be significantly harder for her to find work in Hollywood. 2 weeks gives the public perception that she paid her debt. She will be getting roles and paid more than adequately for them in no time.

I appreciate she handled herself better than Lori Loughlin but 2 weeks is ridiculous. 6 months would have been nice, if not a year.
Why?
What did she do to warrant such a sentence? She admitted what she did, she didn't hurt anyone, she plead guilty. Two weeks is more than enough. No jail time would be better. I would have given her probation and community service.

The PR guy on GMA this morning agrees with your "pound of flesh" theory.
