Feeling incredibly lucky this morning

It’s been storming here all night. Lightning had been striking and we even said a couple of times that it sounded really close to the house. I walked out this morning to see this thing laying flat in the yard. Thank God it fell in the opposite direction, as the base of that tree is about 10 feet from our house.

Yes lucky. For future reference, don't procrastinate on a 10 ton, 50 foot vertical object with no means of solid support 10 feet from your house. Just spend 15 minutes and get it on the ground. Then procrastinate on cleaning it up.
