Christopher Kirchner, co-founder and former CEO of software firm Slync Inc., has been accused of fraud by multiple federal agencies for selling $67 million in securities to investors and then using nearly half to buy a private jet and pay for other personal expenses to “live extravagantly while not paying Slync’s employees.”

Kirchner, 35, was arrested at his home in Westlake on Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. attorney’s office for the Northern District of Texas. He was charged by federal prosecutors with wiring $20 million from the firm’s bank account to his own.

Under Kirchner’s leadership, Slync was once the official logistics partner of the Dallas Stars. According to The Athletic, the company didn’t make its payments to the NHL team and owed over $800,000 with the sponsorship deal.

According to Forbes, Kirchner had been selling TVs for Best Buy just a few years ago, but his rocket-like rise to a perceived perch atop the tech world allowed for a newfound lifestyle that included the membership at Vaquero, which is ranked as one of the best private courses in Texas, according to Golfweek’s Best’s state-by-state list. The initiation at the club, which includes a Tom Fazio-designed course, is $175,000 with annual dues over $15,000, according to one report.

Yeah… a professional level thief uses a charity to pay for all of their swank benefits instead.

with annual dues over $15,000,
that seems pretty low for a 175k initiation on a Tom Fazio.

Rich people are surprisingly easy to con. They think they got where they are because they're smarter than everybody else, and they're arrogant about it. Most of them simply got lucky or were born to lucky parents. Or they're very talented in a narrow area of expertise that doesn't translate to overall intelligence.

Hahaha I went to high school with that stupid frick. Dude was the kicker on the football team. Was a complete tool. When I saw he was the CEO of Slync and was living the high life, I always wondered how someone like him “made it.” Legit schadenfreude to know that one of the most unlikeable douchebags i knew growing up was a fraud all along.

Not much more to tell… he was just one of those kids that nobody really liked, but he hung around on the fringe of all the most popular kids. Thought he was God’s gift to man type of person. Thought it was actually cool that he was a kicker just always seemed liked the skeezy, used-car salesman type. Which is why I was so shocked to see him pop up on my linkedIn one day as CEO of a tech company. And then when I saw Slync being repped on the PGA Tour I started to wonder what the frick this guy did to get ahead. He was never that smart in school or anything. Turns out, all you need to make it is to be a fricking salesman. Him proving he has room-temperature IQ by transferring $20m to his personal account and using $14m of it on a Gulfstream has had me laughing for a good while now.

He probably thought the company could just “write it off.”

This thread had my curiosity, now it has my attention. Feel free to update us with any stories that come to mind of this guy being a stupid slapdick.
