#2 thing that pisses me off about paying for expedited delivery.
The #1 thing is "delivery attempted: customer not home/business not accessable"
Motherfricker, my office window faces the parking lot and I have been in my office all damn day. You didn't even pass by

Of you paid for a guaranteed delivery and they didn’t meet it, then they owe you a refund.

We never have any issues with UPS, but our FedEx drivers are straight trash. I can’t count the times they’ve delivered packages to the wrong house- sometimes to a neighbor, sometimes to somebody several miles up the road, sometimes to the church up the road, and sometimes they just say screw it and drop it off at the post office.

I've had FedEx and UPS do this several times. The best excuse is "Attempt made, no one was home." First off I'm home all day and second, no signature was required.

A FedEx driver and I had a brief conversation just the other day. He was delivering two heavy side chairs for a den. He only had 2 more boxes in his truck. I asked him if he gets to head home after the last 2 or does he go get more. He said he goes home when the truck is empty. If it’s Empty at 3pm, he heads home. It may be 8pm som days and he still has to make all of the deliveries and empty the truck.

A while back I finally got a package that I had been waiting for years, actually had forgot about it until a guy showed up with it...turns out the plane my package was on had crashed in the ocean and this dude survived with it on a deserted island for years before later being rescued at sea.

Same thing happened to me. But when I finally got my volleyball, it dirty as Hell with a damn hand print on it. I filled a complaint with promptness!

FedEx is now the Burger King of shipping.

UPS - Chick file a (they seem to try)
USPS - McDonald's (just ok, eventually might get your package)
FedEx - Burger King (no one gives a shite)

This has been my expierence, but lately USPS is trying really hard to de-throne the King. I think they are trying to see if there is anything below Burger King. I didn't get a package the other day. The slip said "Gate closed". Well, no shite! My fricking front door is closed too. That's why I have a damn doorbell!

USPS has been the worst here lately. We're ordering a little more than we used to, going through some home renovations. Ordered some memory foam mattresses from Amazon. No idea why they sent them in the mail and not on an Amazon van. Or even UPS or FedEx. 3 days go by, I see it is "Out for delivery." Then I get one of those delivery attempt notices in my mailbox. This was on a Saturday. Go online, schedule the redelivery, thinking maybe it was a different driver on Saturdays.

I waited until about Tuesday, and nothing has been delivered. Contacted Amazon and they send replacements, through the mail again. Idiots. So Friday comes and the replacements are out for delivery. I didn't have high hopes, and sure enough, another notice was left. I finally got someone at the Post Office to pick up the phone, and he puts me on hold, and says yeah, we have four large boxes here for you, looks like mattresses, and we'll get them on the truck tomorrow. Saturday rolls around and I happen to see the mail truck coming down the street, so I walk out when she gets to my mailbox, with the delivery notice in my hand to ask her. She says they're huge boxes and won't fit in her truck, and we would have to go get them. I told her I had spoken with someone at the Post Office and she said she hates he told me that they would be delivered, because they just don't fit.

So I had to drive 10+ miles away and pick them up, all because the shipper used the mail for a large package, and the mail trucks are too small.

I would have told them no. I paid for delivery, and they should deliver. Contact the seller and tell them that the price you paid was for the product to be delivered to your house. USPS has, without a doubt, the laziest workers of any delivery service. I was once told by my local postmaster, that they are not required to deliver a package if you have a dog. I told her, I guess y'all don't deliver many packages around here then, considering I don't know many people who don't have a dog. She also told me that they weren't allowed to back up their vehicle. I assume they only deliver to people with circular driveways. Keep in mind, this is rural Alabama.

I got two free mattresses out of it. So not complaining too much, but I do agree with you. It should be on the seller, in this case Amazon, who knew about the issues with the USPS when they sent the replacements, and conveniently have their own delivery vans they could have used. But it came clear to me that the postal service wasn't going to do anything but stick a notice in my box, so I went to get them.

I have a friend who drives for Fed Ex. They still have massive staffing issues. It could have been loaded but they just weren't able to get to it. If they have the drivers, another driver may pick some of it up and attempt delivery. Otherwise it goes back to depot for delivery the next day. We also get that on Saturday as our local Fed Ex contractor doesn't delivery on Saturdays.

The message they use for the delivery exception is annoying because it makes it look like it was your fault when it was theirs.

It is just an excuse for them to push it back to another day.

Has happened to me a few times over the years.

Out of all the major shipping companies, FedEx has been by far the worst. Now that can just be because my local FedEx sucks.
