but what would the feds gain by leaving the shooting ambiguous enough that some people might feel the need to react?

I have no idea. Perhaps there is an audio recording of this event that hasn't been released yet, or won't be released for what ever reason.

I agree. Those were stupid videos.

The cop ran right in front of his truck. Nobody posting in this thread would have been able to avoid hitting that cop under those circumstances.

Really bruh? So you don't think the cop was running bc it looked as if that idiot in the truck was going to try to run into the cop's vehicles? I'm disappointed you can't see/understand that.

What would you have done? Stood behind the car with a big arse truck coming at you?

I never said that the cop shouldn't have run. Hell, any of us would have run in that instance. All I'm saying is that the cop ran right in front of Finicum's vehicle, while you're trying to make it sound like Finicum deliberately tried to run the cop down.

None of us know why Finicum swerved off the road. Maybe he was going to fast to stop on the pavement without running into the vehicles used to create the road block. I read some where that spike strips were placed on the road. Perhaps the truck swerved after blowing a tire. Maybe he thought he could plow right though the snow bank and continue on his merry way behind the cop cars. None of us have the answers to why he did what he did.

But the video shows a cop running from behind a car, right into the path of a moving vehicle. That's on the cop, not Finicum.

I think he's saying that the cop was being run down when he was behind the vehicle (that was his assumption based on the path of the oncoming vehicle). In the cop's eyes, dude was going to ram into his car.

I don't even know how to respond to this. So, you think the cop deliberately ran in front of the truck?

Exactly what I'm saying, so the cop ran from behind his vehicle to prevent being crushed in the event that guy rammed in to the cop's car. Then, for some reason, the idiot driving the truck swerved, almost directly in to the cop.

Was the idiot trying to dodge the cars? Was he trying to hit the cop when he saw him run from behind the cars? Thus suggesting he was going to purposely run in to the cars to hurt the cops. Was he going to try to run even further? We don't know these things, however, we do know the dude was an idiot whose actions cost him his own life.

If you're trying to peacefully surrender, you don't run from the cops. It's sad all this common sense shite has to be pointed out.

Maybe he was still trying to get away?

E - period instead of ?

I never said that. What I said was the video doesn't show Finicum TRYING to run over the cop like you have stated in some of your posts.

Try watching the video again and try to pay attention to what is happening. At the 8 second mark, Finicum is in the oncoming traffics land and is drifting to the shoulder of the road.
At the nine second mark, Finicums truck has entered the snow drift and the cop is still behind the police vehicle.
At the 10 second mark, Finicums truck is completely into the snow bank and the dumbass cop is running towards Finicums truck, not away from it.

When Finicum started to drift towards the the left hand shoulder of the road, the cop ran right into the path of the vehicle. You would think that if he was trying to run some over, he wouldn't have driven completely off the road since there wasn't anyone placed in that location.

Well, I said in my first post that he probably got what he deserved by running from the cops in that kind of circumstance. I don't believe I ever said that he was trying to surrender peacefully.

What common sense? You're insisting that Finicum tried to run someone down, and in reality, the video doesn't show that.

I watched NN's video in the second post bc that's the one I had already seen when this thread was made. My bad though. I don't know what the dude was thinking honestly. I think he was all in at first and was going to crash into the vehicle barricade, then at the last second, had a change of heart and went towards the snow. In that process, I believe the cop thought he was going to crash into the vehicle barricade as well, thus running from behind it, which was bad timing for him bc at the same time that's when the idiot swerved. I don't believe the idiot was trying to run him over at that moment intentionally, bc he had a change of heart and didn't want to kill himself in the wreck or whatever his reason was.

I thought I stated that he almost killed the cop, regardless of intention and was asking for trouble. I'll go re watch the other video in a sec. I may have misstated something last night bc it was like 1 am.

Like I stated above, I'll watch the other video in a second when I get home. In the video NN posted, which shows the full chase, it appears, to me, he was initially going to try to run through the police's vehicle barricade.

Can we at least agree what he did and all the previous videos they made talking about killing cops, he was asking for it? And that he's dead?

I just saw a news report on ABC that the FBI fired 2 shots right as he got out of the truck, but they didn't report them. There is a video from inside the truck.

Sorry, no link, but I'm sure the video can be found.

ETA: Video from inside vehicle

Good shoot. The three LEO's were is s crossfire situation. The one across from the shooting officer had enough s nose to realize the crossfire and move behind cover. Lucky he didn't get shot by friendly fire.

Can you tell whether he pulled a gun?

They hid behind a curve and then fired at his approaching vehicle.

I cant tell, but did they open fire with two shots as soon as he stepped out of the car and without a weapon drawn by him or even reaching for one at that point. If they did, that's bad. Clearly, the later shots were called for though.
