I'm going to guess you haven't been to BR in a little while.

It definitely was. He sold the one in The Rebel to one of his brothers and the one in the Broadmoor to another brother.
Interesting. I just don't recall it. I remember Andrews and Andrews Drugs on Rebel and Government and the old Drive Inn theater behind the Shopping Center.

It was in the opposite front corner from McDonalds. Andrews had another location in the Broadmoor shopping center called Andrew's Rexall Drugs.
The area behind the drive-in was a good area back then. I remember another good restaurant back there called Phil's Oyster bar. And Pizza Inn.

Yeah and next door to Phils was Toups Seafood Market. Pitt Grill was a block closer to S Foster which later was MOP's Meat Pies owned by Mary Olive Pierson.
I remember a Jewish deli a bit farther down Government but can't remember the name. Down close to Steele Blvd. and Lobianco's Grocery.

I'll say Ralph and Kacoo's. I don't know if it still exists but it started a steep decline after the Olinde's sold it. Used to be my favorite. Never left there hungry or feeling like you weren't treated well. Really miss those shush puppies

Lyman White's Soul Food in Baton Rouge. That soul food buffet back then was incredible for a college kid.

The one on Airline. Enjoyed the urban hostesses in their 70s prom dresses and James Baskett singing Happy Anniversary while I shoveled hush puppies down

Is Master Chef in Amite gone?
It is still there. In fact, they built a new building a couple of years ago.
