Leisurely skill development....

Real class, 300 level

Designed for preschool teachers.

Lots of hot chics and we learned preschool games the whole time. Couldn’t believe I got a high level credit for it.

Constitutional Law I & II (Political Science Major)

Had an amazing professor who made the class really interesting and enjoyable. Learned a ton, too.

Both of the survey Art History courses I took as electives. One of the courses coincided with a major exhibit that was in the region that featured artist like Millet, Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet, etc. and that was incredible to see/discuss. The other I got to sit in on an art restoration and I really enjoyed that as well.

In a world where money didn't matter, I definitely would've been a Art History major.

Greek and Roman Mythology at LSU.
It was an elective that counted for nothing but that professor had to be the most popular guy on campus.

Bill Clark.

Had to be, if

quote:

His words the first day of class, “Zeus fricks (sic) everything!”

I had him for Latin, and some chick in my class translated "(some form of Roman exleptive...canis est in via!" as "Oh, dear, the dog is in the street!"

Dr. Clark shook his head, and without looking, pointed to me and said, "Mr.(19), do you have a translation that doesn't go from one dead language to another, please?" and I said,
"Goddammit, someone get the fricking dog back in here before it gets hit, for Christ's sake!!"

He looked at me with one eyebrow cocked and said, "You are a natural with language, Mr. 19."

And he had just married a 24-yr old ex-student of his, and she dressed him in pastel Polos and suspenders and shite.

It was "Classical Studies 20??" in the mid-90's when I first met him, then took him again for Latin I & II.
The man was a rock-star on campus, and my favorite teacher of all time.

He rode around the P-mac during graduation in a golf cart loaded down with bottles of 18-yr old McCallen, gift wrapped for his favorites, had our names on them and everything.

Yes, one of the best professors I ever had.

It’s hard to make that class interesting but he did, his passion for the subject shined through.

I met him a few times. Great guy. Great energy.

I fell in love with fossils all over again thanks to him.

A distant second was "Literature of Warfare". Don't recall the prof's name, he was a hobbit-sized dude with glasses and a beard...but he was cool AF. Very lenient with his grading, just wanted us to show him we got something out of what we read.

We read stuff from Vonnegut, Shaara, Heller, O'Brien...opened my eyes to a whole new genre.

First day of class he had an AV cart setup with the opening to "Full Metal Jacket". I was sold immediately.
