Yeah, and if I remember correctly, you have to give the ATF a map of your house, prove that you have a safe or vault to store the guns, and agree to be subject to random inspections.

After all that, then you get to plop down the cash for that.

You can, however, pick up a semi-auto Ma Deuce for $13,000. Fee shipping, too!

Personally, I like the 1918 BAR.

That only applies to dealers. An FFL dealer needs what is referred to as a Class III license for the sale of Title 2 NFA weapons. Those dealers would have to submit to the requirements you listed, and a few others.

A civilian can transfer/purchase NFA regulated weapons (machine guns, SBRs, SBSs, suppressors, AOWs, and destructive devices with an ATF stamp. To get that stamp you have to fill out ATF form and pay $200. One does not need to obtain a “Class III” weapons license to own.

You're right. Turns out, if it's one made prior to 1986, you technically don't need the Class III, though you do have to fill out forms, submit finger prints, get the sheriff to sign off on you having it, and pay $200.

FNAR .308

Once I shot this after buying it, I sold all of my 5.56's.

It is the only one I need.
Killed a deer over 300 yards with it.

You seem to lik the bull pups.

If I were to get a bull pup, it would probably be the Desert Tech MDR

Excellent post OP. Excellent choices as well.

I have shot each and every one of those models ... finally got to shoot a pre-85 MP5 last weekend.
