Wife and I had annual physicals in May. These are covered by insurance every year.
Two weeks later wife gets 2 bills totaling $500! Initially, receptionist stated it was coded wrong. She refers us to a higher up at another office. Phone tag commences with the occasional, "We'll call you back."
Today wife finally reaches higher up again and is told she was diagnosed for a hurt foot! Never happened! They claim they spoke to Dr. and that's what he has in records.
Meanwhile, we have outstanding bills that could effect our credit. It seems impossible to speak to the Dr. himself.
Any help?

Ask for a copy of the medical records.

There is a "hurt foot" diagnosis on our Healow app. Again, it didn't happen though.
We both had appointments same time. I was there. No bills for me?

Can you drive to the office? All this can simply be fixed in person.

Lesson: Don’t go to the doctor unless you are sick, or your foot hurts.

Faulty? Did Dr. Bill get his degree at some Caribbean school?

Dont pay and deal with the credit rating later...I have done just that....no worries.

If you pay it, it is gone for good.

PS: There is enormous fraud in the medical billing arena!
Be careful.

My grandparents were from Magnolia Arkansas and like my relative Sam Walton, were relentless on being overcharged. They would go through hospital bills item by item and mark off the shite they didn’t get etc bills would drop typically by 30 percent on more. i mean thousands and thousands. even when they were on Medicare they did this.

Hurt foot isn’t a diagnosis.

Cool app, but that's not a chart note. Ask for the specific note used to code the foot injury. There has to be an ICD and evidence to support the cpt code. Imaging, patient complaint, medical history, Something.

If nothing is there, they need to remove the code or you should call your insurance with the story. If Something erroneous is in there, a medical record edit needs to made and sent to you or, again, call insurance and tell them.

Your doctor thanks you for funding his drug habit/wife's expense account.

This.

I had a claim held up for months because my physician wouldn’t get off his arse and write me a note verifying that he referred me to a neurosurgeon. Finally I got fed up, drove to his office and loudly voiced my displeasure to the receptionist in front of his waiting patients. It got taken care of minutes later.

Crazy thought but have you thought about getting your wife to go to the office and talk to someone in person
