these excuses have been around for decades now. they used to be making a slow march into mainstream, but social media has really escalated the group think justifications. i remember when i was young and first heard that alcoholism and drug addiction was a "disease". i couldn't understand it then, and i don't understand it now. if i had Parkinson's, i'd be pissed if some dumbass junkie came up to me and said he understood my debilitation because he has a disease too.
fats are no different. right now on yahoo, the heading for this article has "fat" in quotes, as if it's subjective. no, she's very fat. fats will become a protected class, and using the word "fat" will become as frowned upon as the n-word.

Well then I guess you will continue to be pissed because drug addiction and alcoholism are diseases.

You know what most fat people with "Fibromyalgia" is?

Y'all are just jelly of rolls. She is fatastic. Not every one can strut that gut with that wide soft butt.

Exactly, they hear that fibro is essentially constant pain and they think "I have that" then use it as a crutch. All the while they dont have it, there body isnt made to support an extra 100 lbs so it hurts.

Those who fit that category are ~1%. If a fat person tells you that they have a glandular disorder, don't just accept it at face value. Ask them what their diagnosis is.

Well then I guess you will continue to be pissed because drug addiction and alcoholism are diseases.

The stupidity is, we have literally come to not only support people who aren't necessarily excelling in an area(in this case fitness) but we actually demonize those that are!! THAT is where shite gets weird.
Some mom posts a pic of her awesome body after having children and she gets absolutely vilified. But then, fatty posts her pic and she's awesome???
WTF? It's one thing to tell people, "hey, don't think you're a shitty human just because you don't have a great body". It's quite another to act like working hard and achieving something is a BAD thing while failing to work at that thing is noble.
This is totally what I wanted to say but couldn't articulate it at the time. It's not that she's fat. It's this culture that punishes a slim, trim mom who busted her arse in the gym after pregnancy for saying, "Look what I did, you can do it too" while celebrating someone for giving up and being "ok" with weighing 350 pounds and calling it courageous. The world has turned completely upside down.

You are wrong. It is a disease, and since when does choosing or not choosing something qualify a disease as such? If someone willingly contracted HIV, they would still have a disease.

The difference is you cant get rid of HIV, you can get rid of fat. It isnt easy, but you can get rid of it, thats why it isnt a disease.

You can't get rid of addiction or alcoholism either.

That pisses me off more than anything. I watched my grandmother lose just about everything that made her happy because of fibrimyalgia. She was nowhere near fat. She was in constant pain almost 24/7. To see fatties take a debilitating disease and use it as a crutch for their own fatass problems is disgusting.
I hope they all truly get fibrimyalgia so they can know what that pain really feels like. It's not just knee problems because your legs can't support your fat frick body

Depends on the train of thought, you can just stop doing drugs or drinking or you can use it as a crutch and say its a disease.
