As much as I hate moving or helping people move, when it comes to my daughter I will gladly jump up like a bitch to help her
She’s 26 and married but last 10 or so years I’ve been wrapped around her finger
Who am I kidding, I’ve always been wrapped up
Who am I kidding, I’ve always been wrapped up

My daughter’s last two moves, she didn’t call me. She relied on friends. I didn’t even know she had moved until months later.
I’m proud that she is has created a life of her own. She is an independent and capable adult. But I miss her more than ever!
My advice is to appreciate the time you get to spend with your daughter. Take advantage of it and start the process of building an adult to adult relationship. You can’t take that for granted, especially with the divide between the generations these days.

Women are normally pack rats compared to men so they accumulate and need the help as there is more to bring for each move.
I have moved my daughter more times that that. She lived in the sorority house for two years. It was a large shared dorm style room. My Yukon XL was filled with all seats flat as was her vehicle. I am not sure how she could move.
Her brother could go for a year with a suitcase and miss nothing.
The good and bad news is that she is moving apartments again as she seeks her PhD and her boyfriend of two years is doing the moving while she is at an internship at JPL. Bad news is because you do miss when your kids need you at the same time you are proud they can do it on their own.

Daughters is plural

Since you brought it up, Fathers as well. But only the insecurely egotistical feel the need to correct message board grammar.

I just paid for a Penske truck for my daughter to move cross country. She has friends to help load and unload and her boyfriend is flying in to drive with her. I didn’t want them in a shite U-Haul.

The law of averages says she will move back home one more time.

Moves: into dorm at Auburn, into 1st apartment in Auburn, into 2nd apartment at Auburn, into 1st apartment in Atlanta, and now into 2nd apartment in Atlanta.
Pics, and I might take your daughter off your hands, sir.

Yep.
I get it for college, and maybe first job. After that, she's just using you.

Can't believe this girl hasn't built her own home by hand by now, Roger. Time to grow up, amirite.

Twice, her husband handled the 3rd move in both cases.

My last kid, (no pics) we moved her in as a freshman and then she moved after the next three years by herself.
