Make sure to remember all the stuff you did for mother’s day. The same must be reciprocated next Sunday

I always think about this Mark Twain quote on Father's day because it's absolutely true in my case.
quote:

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.

The spoils of Mother's Day are redeemable for only 1/4 of the face value.

Mine died (cancer) a month before I turned 5. You still have a chance with yours.

Don't want a chance. He's a total stranger.

ETA: I'm sorry for your loss. That response was pretty inconsiderate of me.

I like the ancient Chinese story: A boy reaches manhood, grabs his father, and drags him outside. When they reach a large bamboo tree the old man yells "Stop! This is as far as I dragged my father when I was your age."

I thought I wanted to check my dad's knuckles one time at about 15. My dad was about 6'4" 230 at that age. Man was I in for a surprise

This will probably be my last Father’s Day with my dad. He’s dying and down to about 118#. Will definitely enjoy my day with him.

Probably the last with my grandfather. He's 99 and going down fast. Mind is still pretty sharp though.

All I want for Father’s Day is to be left alone for 24 hours.

That’s what I said for Mother’s Day. Regretted it the next day.

I left mine alone in a graveyard in 1989.

You might want to reconsider your comment.
