Broadmoor Plantation
—The only reason there was a murder there is that word “plantation”
Change the name and no more murders.

True story about plank road and you fricks will not believe me, but one year. I still remember it was a Saturday night before Easter.. It was raining off and on and we decided we were going to take a friend of ours to go get his first BJ.

One of the dudes with us was like "yall we have to do is go down plank road. We were in my van. At the time it was one of those big vans with the lift... not a ramp. It had the two seats in the middle out so my chair can go in so there was a lot of space and the back seat could be laid back like a bed. There were two hookers out. We stopped and both of them bitches jumped in.

One of them is paid $30 to blow the dude. We talking to the other one and she looks at one of the dudes with us and said "how about you sweet dick daddy with the candy nuts?".

Dude in the back felt uncomfortable about the whole situation, gets up and said he was done.. We drop them off, the "chick" who was blowing him stopped in a corner to piss. Lifted up "her" dress with her hands to the front and she was standing up. She was pissing like she had a dick.

Thank god it was rainy and kind of cold that night otherwise we might have gotten shot.

My question stands

I guess all them Honkeys going to Tony's or Bellues at 11 am on a weekday are taking unnecessary risks too.

A couple of y'all are acting like he took her up there at 10pm on a Saturday night after a Southern Home Football Game.

The Krispy Kreme Bandit worked for me back in the 90s.

They were not hit. An innocent person in the car behind the targets in the drive thru line was shot. Shot in the leg and will be okay.

But bullets did spray into the counter area of the store, sufficiently traumatizing normal folks waiting to place an order.

A father and daughter was in a building that was shot at and thankfully did not get shot.

The point of the article is the dad, who is mikelbr's brother, sharing his story about how it was a tradition for him and his daughter to go to that specific Krispy Kreme, but after their experience it isn't worth it.

Back in the 1970’s that was a good working class part of town.

When the area was full of a certain demographic it was growing.

Shopping centers were built
Delmont Village
Kmart
Woolco & Kroger
Howard brothers
Hooper & Harding was a TG&Y with a Grocery store.
Colonial Shopping Center

Now that a certain demographic has taken over the area, look at what it has become.

You’re getting downvoted but I get what you’re saying. It’s a shitty thing that happened, but they make it sound like they’ve stopped celebrating Thanksgiving. In reality it should say “father to find a new location to take his daughter for donuts after they get shot at in the hood.”

I guess this kind of stuff is more important to some than others. Sure, he's only been going there 8 years with his daughter. But he's passing down a tradition my dad started with us circa 1981. For us it was the McDonalds on Perkins Near College drive. My dad would wake us up on Sunday Mornings, or a Holiday morning like Monday, to get egg McMuffins.

Looking back it was probably b/c my dad was doing my mom a favor to get us out of her hair for a few hours.
But we absolutely felt special and looked forward to those outings.

As for the headline, it's accurate. There is no other Krispy Kreme in Baton Rouge.
And to people saying go here or there for donuts, some people are as picky about their donuts as others are about BBQ and Boudin. They drive by two Mary Lees en route to Krispy Kreme.

My grandparents had a house and a business on St. Katherine/Plank. We could walk to Krispy Kreme back in the day.

We used to go St Anthony from Central. What were our parents thinking?

They probably had a relationship with the priest and parishioners there.

I lived on Longfellow Drive back in the day.

The only hood that was there was lady next door slept with the BRPD officer doing traffic detail from people cutting through to Hollywood Dr.

Back then it was the end of BR and more rural. Even had black bears come through the neighborhood as we had one climb a tree in our backyard.
