You said it didn't happen or wasn't a problem 51 other weeks out of the year which is a complete lie. There are stabbings, beatings, robbings and yes shootings (though not often) throughout the year on Bourbon.

I didn't say it never happens outside this weekend. You guys really could benefit from some remedial English courses.

I was in the hotel business in New Orleans for almost 20 years. thxgiving weekend was always a tough three days but it had nothing to do with violent crime. it was about expending a great deal of time and resources for very little return on investment

Maybe if nobody is understanding what you are trying to say you aren't being clear

Or maybe they just run with the first post and don't read any other ones trying to make a gotcha moment. Either way.

You lead your argument with this statement. Are you saying that you were maybe being a bit dramatic and are backing down from it?

If not, then you did indeed say that violent crime on Bourbon isn't an issue on any other weekend than the Bayou Classic.

You're like that guy mouton on the food and drink board. You say something half arse clear with zero explanation, then tell people they're stupid for interpreting the obvious.

Violent crime in front of the royal sonesta is not a normal occurrence. I'm not backing down from that.

That is not to say violent crime doesn't not happen elsewhere in the quarter other times of the year.

And you're like that guy that doesn't read the rest of someone's posts in a thread. Even though you've been replying to them.

As a person that used to enjoy NOLA annually (not Mardi Gras - never been and will never go) I have to say that I don't have a desire to visit any longer. Something just seems different. It doesn't seem as safe any longer. The vibe is different. It's gotten "trashier" when most places are getting nicer.

So now we are resorting to picking specific parts of cement that are safe 51 weeks out of the year? What a safe city it must be.

the majority of the city has never looked better
there are more people with money living in the city than there has been in decades
there are also many people living in the city they prey upon those people with money and upon themselves

it is the citizens of New Orleans that are most at risk
tourists are perfectly safe relatively speaking
you are far more likely to be killed on the drive into the city
