It's a pain now. You have to select them far in advance and plan your day around them. After you use them you can get more . You can only select them in one park per day.

Do it right and you never really wait in line. My wife is obsessed with Disney planning and we ride everything we want with minimal waiting.

It actually makes your trip far more enjoyable.

3 a day, can get more via the app after you've used the first 3 up. Its better the new way IMO because now you don't have to walk up to Space Mountain only to find out the time for FP isnt until 8 hours later. Now you can plan meal reservations and FP times out and not have to worry about your FP time conflicting with a dinner reservation

Was at Epcot on Saturday and used about 7 FPs rode Soaring 2x. Schedule them all early in the day so that the last one is used up early then while waiting in the line schedule a new FP with their app. If you have park hopper you have to schedule at one park the first 3 then you can schedule your new one at the new park.

Get the app and figure out the quickest way to modify and refresh available times for what you want to ride. Bring backup charger and you should have no issue getting 10+ FP pervday and won't be waiting long other than the few rides they set limits on. Do those rides early.

There are so many people in the parks now that to try and leisurely do Disney will leave you bitter.

Getting fast passes is easy. It gets complicated by reading projected park metrics for each day and figuring out how to maximize your passes.

My wife was told by a travel agent (not the one we use) she knows that one can use the app to add additional fast passes after the initial 3 are used.

I'll that theory next week.

And the app is very useful.

Too complicated. Single rider line and do what you want.

Go to Universal, better rides and if you stay at the main resort you always get in fast pass line.

Disagree to an extent. If you are willing to get your arse to the parks early, do your FPs for mid morning and bust arse to hit popular rides when the park opens.
----

This. We were there when the gates opened. By late morning we had cherry picked several of the top rides. Drag arse getting there and it's a dogfight

I hate that they changed it. I preferred when you walked by the ride and grabbed one. I don't want to have to plan my frickin rides months in advance.

We took the family to Disneyland last month and they still do fastpasses the old way. It was kinda refreshing going back to the old way and not stressing over when we had to be where the whole time. We just got the most popular one when we got there then did other stuff while we waited. Then we got another one after that and so on. Disneyland is much smaller than Disney World but overall I liked it better.

Before the change, we had the FP system down to a science. I was the designated "runner" to get the FPs when the park opened while the rest of the group when to the first ride and then once the "window" opened, I'd go get the next ones (old rules were that you could get a new one once your time window hit, and you did not have to use them during that window [you could really bank some FPs by the end of the day]).

The wife (our planner) was none too pleased about the change, but we hit upon the above strategy and the kiosks make it very convenient to get more (not having to actually go to the ride as before).

That info is correct. Book your 3 Fast Passes before your trip on PC or the app. Then after you've used the 3 FP, you can book another FP using the app while you stand in line. Once you've used that FP, you can book another, and so on.

Yep. Can book all your Fast Passes from it and see the wait time for stand-by line for all the rides. And the app lets you see the photos taken from any of Disney's PhotoPass photographers from around the park. With the new Magic Bands, when you get off a ride that takes your picture, you can get the ride photo linked to your account and view it in the app. So you can decide later if you want to order a print or download the photo instead of having to buy it in the gift shop.

Same here. I thought Disney might be offering free hover-rounds to the morbidly obese with bad knees.

Yeah. Having the app on your phone is a must. It allows you to see to and get to ones that have available times. Disney isn't a place I particularly enjoy, but proper fast pass usage made it so we never waited for long periods of time.

Schedule the most popular ones first then bounce to around to what is available.

The more I read about navigating Disney, the less I want to go back. I've planned multi-country trips with less logistics

We are going next week

Even if you use your 3 early in the day, are there really many decent fast passes left for the day to be able to book an additional pass on your phone?

I know they save some slots for different stages of booking but I'd think that getting a FP for rock n roller coaster on the same day is next to impossible.

How are people doing 7-10 FP per day?
