I've seen it. Usually the ones getting it are so out of it they don't really care. They'll give it to you anywhere too. Unit hump on the side of the road in the French Creek area, sure why not. Yut.

it is mostly for the fact that the bones are pretty much non-collapsible as compared to veins (especially when someone is dehydrated)

Jesus Christ! Now I know why they say to never volunteer for anything in the military.
The worst part is that probably 80% of those being "trained" were too busy grab assing to be able to properly perform this function in the field. I will say that the guy being infused had a helluva sense of humor about the situation.
