We eat a large Christmas meal, retire to the den the den for afternoon and evening of football viewing pleasure. Pants are unbutton and an occasional fart is heard with chuckles to follow.

When the kids were little we would spend one day shopping for their pajamas that they would wear on Christmas Eve.
Now we dinner at a nice restaurant on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Day I make a gumbo and we lay around and do nothing.

my father will be shitcanned by 9am. and likely pass out by 1pm. Maybe noon. he will rally around 3pm, and tell how much he loves me.
One year he fell asleep at the christmas dinner.
you can guess what I am doing on christmas day, not visiting him.
He does basically the same thing on Xmas eve too, but he won't get quite as drunk.
eta: my wife and I have our own holiday traditions. We take a psychedelics on xmas eve and look at Xmas lights. We call it shpongle carrolling. On Christmas day, we go snow shoeing and eat indian food.
