In fairness, it had a very, very high success rate. It's more dangerous to get a vaccine than to ride that ride for example.

That ride had huge issues before it ever opened.

The family of a 10-year-old boy who died on a giant waterslide at a Kanas water park will receive nearly $20 million in settlement payments, according to court documents.

The largest payment to Caleb Schwab's family, $14 million, will come from SVV 1 and KC Water Park, two companies associated with the Texas-based water park operator Schlitterbahn, The Kansas City Star reports.

Both parties I am sure wanted to settle.

Like the Disney alligator attack.

I assume you put a "1" on a check and do not sign it. Hand it to the family to think about how many zeroes to add. Disney can pay a LOT of zeroes.

Yeah, I thought it would be about $5-$10M, looks like the family got around $20M.

It was such a gruesome accident I can see why the figures are so large. And, the company's negligence is likely off the charts.

If the company settled for $20M, the must have seen potential LARGE exposure. I mean, $20M is a lot of cash.

That sort of like referring to a building that collapsed and killed all the occupants after standing for 20 years. "It only failed for one minute after 20 years of minutes....high success rate...." When a resulting failure is catastrophic or fatal, success rate is a bit bullshite, no?

Disney would even feel a pinch if theirs went to trial. Schlitterbahn may shut down. The amount of security footage available not to mention the cameras they have on those rides would have images that could be used in court if schlitterbahn were stupid enough to dig their heels. The images would be horrific for the family and public. They'd probably bankrupt Schlitterbahn.
