Not family but I know a couple who obnoxiously does this and it’s funny because the bitch cheated on him and he stayed with her. He’s the one that calls her “baby”. It’s funny to watch.

SIL - would be his wife's brother's wife. SIL to his wife not to him.
Example: the woman married to my brother is MY SIL. She is not my wife's SIL.
