Anyone have a medical marijuana card and have had to provide a random drug screen for their company? What was the result?

You know alcohol isn't illegal

You'll be fired. Or whatever your company decides the punishment shiuld be.

Weed is still illegal federally.

if your employer don't want you being a trashy pot head then medical bullshite card or not, you should and would most likely be laid off

Your pothead card doesnt allow you to be a pothead if your company says otherwise

Pack ya stuff……. Gone Pa’con

My buddy works in HR he said doesn’t matter what you have. If the business says it’s illegal then they have the right to send ya packing!

Depends entirely your company’s policy regarding medical marijuana. It should have something in writing you can read for yourself.

Wow way to overreact. You do realize there are actual benefits to using cannabis for medical reasons, right? Alcohol in comparison is much more dangerous and addictive. Also if people can get off of using harsh prescription opiates and other pain medication I'm all for that.

My cousin was canned from a healthcare company she worked at for 23 years bc she took a gummy with her MMC and they fired her in random testing.

The reason I bring this up is because there are laws in place to protect state employees and they are working to get these protections expanded to private companies as well. Makes sense to me.

Employers have rights. If it’s their policy and someone pisses hot that someone just lost their job.

Only ruling I know of is State of Oregon state Supreme Court ruled in favor of the employer in that same situation.

Just out of curiosity, how much marijuana do you smoke/consume on a daily basis?

Legal doesn’t mean it’s not against company policy

Pretty simple. Businesses have to abide by federal law. If you work in Louisiana or Texas, then your company more than likely follows federal law, where marijuana is a Schedule I drug. You can very likely get fired for testing positive. It won’t be something that can be ignored let’s just say that. Don’t do it.

I do have a medical card and I'm also a 22-year veteran with multiple medical conditions. For those of you who throw around terms like "druggy" you need to step off. Taking cannabis for medical conditions such as mental health should not be looked down on. I rather take a little bit of cannabis in the evening to help level me off than chugging down a few glasses of bourbon or a handful of beers!
