No, but he carried a "homing beacon" in the form of a cell phone. Pings to a local cell tower helped them know the general area he was in. It would seem he probably wised up and turned it off though, or it just ran out of juice.

I worked with an old fella who was a hardass. We went to McDonald's drive through, he orders, pulls up to the first window where you supposed to pay. They told him his total, he said yall have my food ready? They said you get that at the next window. He said well when I get my food I'll pay. Pulls up to the next window, sir your orders isn't ready can you pull up..... no, I'm going to wait right here till my orders is ready, and when I get my food I'll pay you. Sure enough, he waited a couple minutes and they bought his food to him and he paid them.

That was the first and only time I ever went anywhere with him.
