CEO of Brentwood hospital in shreveport wanted to capitalize on the overpopulation of patients in NOLA
brentwood is an adolescent psychiatric hospital, mostly inpatient.
They started taking patients in from nola that are covid19 positive to fill beds. brentwood is now a god damn hot zone and already has one death. the chef for the entire facility RIP
and now, the number of doctors and nurses exposed, many of whom I know personally, are spreading it like wildfire (they were told TODAY to start wearing facemasks) all over the city.
These exact same doctors travel daily to monroe, natchitoches, longview, etc etc etc
all to make a buck

Sounds like this baw is in the industry

Perhaps they needed to find open beds in the State....you don't just ship patients 150 miles away if you have open beds in NOLA ....it doesn't work that way.

So your definition of capitalize is helping out people who can’t even get a hospital bed?

if you dont take the precautions necessary, move them as quickly as possible without training staff- hell not even telling staff- then yes.
the staff was told to not wear masks because to "not alarm anyone"

Im confused with what you are trying to say. You want them to keep the hospital open but not take in Covid-19 infected people?

Our hospital may reach out to Nola too. Are we supposed to let them be short of beds? I’m confused. We are bitching that we don’t have enough vents, yet we have hospitals in small towns that emptied beds and can help. If we’re just letting Nola suffer, then this makes this 10x more backwards assed than it already is

What happens when there is spread in your area and less putative care?

it is an adolescent psychiatric inpatient hospital serving the shreveport region.
WTF do you fill beds with covid19 positive patients, knowing that will infect the entire place?
oh, and not tell anybody about it until someone dies (in this case, a staff member)?

You stop offering help
Just pointing out we are taking these measures to prevent hospitals from getting overwhelmed. Whats the point of standing by and watching them suffer when we have available resources. Kind of hard to justify that you care if we’re watching people line up for beds there and not extend a helping hand

valid point
but my argument is the CEO is basically knowingly speading the virus without even consulting his employees.
and people are dying already

Well that is new information. Every company has a responsibility to inform about a Covid-19 related death
I don’t have a problem with taking on work during these times. So many families are starving for a paycheck. But to be irresponsible about handling the spread is another matter entirely.

my entire point.
the gentlemen that died was the chef for the facility (ie, the guy that touches everyones food, well not everyone, just the people that eat)

Are you saying that the employees of this hospital weren’t aware that they were taking care of COVID positive patients? Because I find that hard to believe...
