I had a GMC with the 5.3 that recommended OW-20 full synthetic.
I always used 15W-40 standard from my farm shop. Drove it 225k miles and traded it in, check engine light wasn't even on.

Thanks WilllieD.
Not sure on the 15K, but anything Mobil 1 sells, I'd be a buyer.
These new engines run tolerances so close, they have to use low viscosity oils. With the higher operating temperature temps, I feel like synthetic is the way to go.

Ecoboost driver here. 2012 and 95k miles
Have only used either synthetic blend from Ford or Mobil 1.
No reason other than I don’t want to have to change my oil as much and I support Mobil oul

I love when folks buy synthetic oils that state 10,000 Miles and buy a regular filter good for 3k-5k Miles. Filter means as much as the oil.

I always figured when you buy a synthetic blend you are buying 95% conventional and 5% synthetic.

I typically buy the Mobil 1 filter as well.

Can I expect 10,000 miles on that oil?
My 2012 Ford F150 had 430,000 miles on it...I used synthetic oil and changed it every 30,000 miles.
Sold it for $2,000 a couple of months ago.

2016 ECOBOOST I use mobil 1 and change it when the thing says between 50-35% life left. so I would say that is about every 6000 miles maybe 6500 probably. only got 50k miles on it so far. been happy with it only thing that broke so far was some thing in the four wheel drive. They replaced that for free so all was good and paid for rental during time they had it.
