so the new governor, who ran in opposition to the poor financial condition of the great state of Louisiana, whose new COA Jay Dardenne just announced the dire financial shape of the state, approves a flyover by 4 F-15s for LANG on inauguration day.

The first of many hypocrisies, I'm sure.

Technically, he wasn't governor yet, so he couldn't have given this the green or red light.

I saw them, actually heard them first, and my son who's sick today, hit the front door running trying to get a pic as if he doesn't have 100 degree temp.

While I would never defend the actions of a democratic governor it works like this. The Air Guard is going to fly a certain number of hours per month for training regardless, flying a training mission that incorporates a fly over of a particular event is not an additional cost. Members of congress always caught flak for getting "free" flights on military transport that cost thousands of dollars per hour to operate, but the plane was going to fly the route whether there was a member of congress in the back or if it was empty. Anyone can request a military flyover using form DD FORM 2535 but the odds of it being granted are obviously slim.

I didn't say that. I said technically, he can't be called out for okaying it because he wasn't governor yet.

Technically is the best kind of correct.

FYI a group of four planes in formation is known as a flight.

Squadron is usually 12-24 planes....Usually 24 in an Air Force squadron.

And no....I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

At first glance I read "F-150s flying over BR" and I was like holy Christ Ford is pulling out all the stops for the Detroit Auto Show
