I cut a piece of plastic about 1 inch x 1/4 inch off an expired credit card and stuck it in the crack on side of the disable button when it's pressed in. That makes the button stay depressed all the time, so I don't have to press in the disable button everytime I start the car, it's always disabled.

It’s easy to disable. Look above where your left foot is supposed to sit when driving. There’s a wiring harness with 3 plug ins. Unplug the smallest one.

It’s that simple.

It does disable trailer lights, so you’ll have to plug it back in if you’re hooked to a trailer.

This is the way. I have a 2018 F150 and this solves the problem. Like they say above, just make sure you plug it back in when you hook at trailer up. I can post pictures if needed.

My 18 is doing that. It will randomly come on after a long drive (like Alex to Nola it will kick on when I get off the interstate in Nola) and start working for a while then not work again around town. Some baw told me it was a battery thing so take that fwiw. Granted I hate that feature.

The FAQ on the $90 widget has some scare language about disconnecting harnesses or tricking the truck into thinking a trailer is attached. Not sure if these are legit concerns. AutoStopEliminator FAQ

I bought one of these a while back for my truck. Takes 2 minutes to install and I never worry about that crap again.

Incessant beeping/blinking every time someone is in the next lane over on your quarter panel. No need for that shite - it’s perfectly easy to see Karen in my blind spot driving her big stupid SUV hauling arse to get Braxlynn to travel ball practice

But the feature is more about Karen seeing you. Women need this kind of stuff to keep from killing us.

Unplug the little connector on the battery . It’s a small cable on the negative terminal. A friend showed me that a few weeks ago and no more auto start/stop. It shows disabled on the dash on my wife’s 2019 F150.

The biggest complaint I have with my 2021 Lincoln Aviator is that you have to go on the settings every time you start the car to turn off the auto stop/start

I hate it so much I spent several hundred dollars for a programmer that allows me to turn the feature off permanently

ETA: starter and battery manufacturers are loving it though

Usually that is a sign that your battery is getting a little weaker and is charging instead of turning the vehicle off.

This is the answer

The auto stop eliminator plug-in for $90 works. Had mine for 3 years and no issues. Takes 20 mins to install. This seems like a safer option instead of disconnecting wires or messing with your trailer lights.

It’s not. It’s seriously 2 wires on a quick connect. Kills the auto stop and trailer plug in. Nothing else. 0 dollars and 10 seconds.

Does anybody know how to make the horn not do the double honk when you get out and the motor is still running?

Sorry for the delay on the picture. Under the steaming column by the door. It’s the smallest one all the way at the bottom. Again, you have to plug it back in when towing a trailer.

Does that only happen for keyless start and the key is taken out while still running?

This right here. I didn't want to confuse the topic but THIS ONE is WAAAAAY more aggravating than the stop/start. The little bit of Googling I did seemed to suggest buying a gizmo to allow you to re-program. Not sure I wanna go there.
