Once, they had a, "flash fire" explosion that my Pops, who happened to have worked off that weekend and was home working outside on a playhouse for us, heard and felt ~15 miles or so away. He came inside and told my mom to turn on the news because the plant had just blown up.
He was right, but it was only one building.

I don't see how the death toll doesn't grow much much higher. If it's less than several hundred, I'd be shocked.
Seems like any car anywhere near was blown hundreds of feet in the air.

Yeah looking at some of the alleged stats of the Tianjin explosions - no way that's accurate (death count, KT, etc.) I'm sure China didn't allow investigation.
I have a hard time fathoming bigger explosions than this/Tianjin that aren't nuclear.
