Is “the rack” still open in Greenwell Springs? That was a solid dive bar back in the mid 90’s.

It's closed but that's a good place to die now.

there's a place that looks exactly like that on Ambergris Caye, can walk up or take the water taxi to it

That one is at the extreme east end of Roatan. Love places like that. They appreciate any business you give them.

they sure do, after we hung out at the place in Belize for a couple of afternoons they would cook some of their local fare for us, stuff not on the menu, turns out the place was owned by one of the big ferry boat Captains down there, good folks, we still keep in touch with them

Most of you not familiar with Central won't know this one but Blackie's Place on Sullivan is an absolute dive. Haven't been there in years but used to love it.

i prefer small, hole in the wall bars because i want the option to focus on the person i'm at the bar with and drink without getting hit on or run into someone that requires a 30 min "hey how've you been" conversation.

I'm almost 41 and the few times per year that I go to a bar it's to shoot the shite with whomever I'm meeting there. I like Ivars, Don Juans and Churchills.

I used to go to Big Heads sometimes before the flood but I probably spend less than 10 hours per year in a bar TBH.

It's attached to the cigar shop in Towne Center. It has a neighborhood bar kind of vibe. Same regulars most days.

People can smoke in there though so if that bothers you it probably wouldn't be your scene.
