I'd like for someone to tell me specifically how someone's situation is changed when you "send prayers." I mean, if enough "prayers" are sent, does the cancer get cured, or does the missing person get found? Does Jesus cure people based on how many prayers that person gets?

I don't get that shite either.

Anthony Jeselnik has a pretty good take on it.

If some people believe prayers bring them peace then let them have it.

I don't believe in it though.

Yes. God uses his powers only when someone is popular enough to garner enough prayers.

It's just a way of letting someone know that you're thinking of them or wishing them the best because of something that they're dealing with.

Of course, you already know this, you just feel the need to be a douche.

I'm curious to hear someone prove that prayer doesn't change a situation.

I get it's a nice gesture, but prayers aren't bringing that loved one back.

Especially the threads that pop up asking for prayers on this site.

It’s a way of saying I’m thinking of you/your situation and hope it gets better. It usually makes the person on the receiving end feel better that people are thoughtful of them. You have to be a retard to not understand this, or no one loves you.

This is my point. Why would Jesus only act if prayers are sent? Are you telling me a sick homeless person doesn't have a chance because people arent sending him prayers? Kind of crappy if Jesus is curing people based on how popular they are.

Then explain the threads where people are sending "prayers" to complete strangers. How do they benefit?

The recipient doesn't benefit. The person "sending prayers" gets to feel better about themselves for 5 minutes.

itt you realize attention makes people feel good. also if your garner enough attention someone may actually send a little more than a prayer to help the situation

Don't understand either, though, probably because I don't roll with the magic man in the sky.

It's a nice gesture. Just accept it at that and move on with your life

Guess no one is praying for all those kids and woman that succumb to a life of sex trafficking.

The magic man in the sky must not have received enough prayers in his jar for that specific atrocity to get rectified.
