Not all boomers are politicians and academics , those are the folks you should be upset with. The real evil you face is Tenured Professors

Correct. Which means that cash payers are also paying for credit card transaction fees without getting the benefits that come with using credit - points, benefits, insurance etc.

Which means they are suckers.

Incorrect.

Just because you young whippersnappers think you are smart does not mean you are.

Paying cash when tipping, especially bars, always seemed to get me better service then tipping on my card.

When I was renting I could always get a month or two for free in a year paying cash.

Buying and selling goods one to one always works better with cash

For sporting events cash really is king

There’s been more than one conflict in the generational span of a baby boomer

It’s been my experience that boomers are the biggest snowflakes. Try telling some old frick his cable Is out and he’s not going to be able to watch Fox News for a while.

Benefits are still there

Lots of places where cash is still king and I can negotiate better deals than some credit card company giving me back a fraction of my own money and telling me it is free.

Hey man - seriously... painting a group of people as large as a generation with the same brush is never going to serve you well. You are isolating yourself from so much potential opportunity by doing that. Expend the energy necessary to categorize individuals based on their own merit, you might find some old farts like me aren’t so bad and might be able to help you get a head start.

The bars thing is real although I bartended for years and never adjusted my services based the tipping medium. Other than that, no one would know you were tipping on a card until the end. But I do always tip with cash so the server doesn’t have to claim it.

I haven’t rented in a decade and a half, but I never had a landlord that allowed me to pay with a credit card.

Which is less than 1% of transactions annually.

ETA: which means you are paying for others’ credit card fees in 90% of your transactions which, if I had to guess, means you still come out behind.

How about you go to a better bar than the local pool hall or paying for every drink immediately? 90% of the time when I go places the server never knows if it’s going to be cash or card until it’s time to close out.

Ummm why aren’t you paying your rent on time, broke dick?

Now a days, I’d argue Venmo is MUCH better bc the other individual you don’t know can’t just rob you of your cash and leave

This one I won’t argue
