Yeah, I grew up up in 70805 of BR unlike most of you. The fkn GHETTO. I saw poverty firsthand, and my mom was Pres. of St. V. De Paul. We delivered food to the poor and helped them. I am so sick of these righteous little white liberal girls who lock their doors in the hood (assuming they have have ever been there) being self righteous. I grew up in the poor black neighborhood of BR and EVERYONE GOT ALONG. My dad flew the flag of the Confederacy (not the rebel flag) but helped our next door neighbor fix his car (black guy). Just because you support being Southern doesn't mean you are racist. Get over yourselves, there is something brewing that most don't agree with. But the extremist people of both sides will come out. And it is scary.

Why does that say Mississippi when you said East Texas in the OP?

The fact those flags are there is a huge red flag. Pun intended. Someone crushed some cinder blocks but you couldn't tell what that was on their own so they put little flags down to make it look like confederate grave sites. If someone actually did this they would have taken the flags.
This photo shows up in a 2013 article from the " Elk Valley Times" about an old abandoned cemetary in Union City Tennessee Abandoned & vandalized in the 1980's,

Those flags were markers to show any interested descendants where the original graves once were.
Op story is complete , but my link doesn't work

Wikipedia has some pretty conflicting stuff about him.
One part says he owned slaves in the 1850's. Then another part says he was arrested by Confederates for being a Union sympathizer in 1860, fours years before he was Governor.
Not trying to say anything negative or contradicting, can you shed some light on when he changed positions?

TL; DR They fixed up a cemetery in Tennessee where things had gotten into disrepair and there were a bunch of busted old monuments. Guess they hadn't gotten to all of them when the picture was taken.
And Nathan Bedford Forrest ought to have his grave dug up for legit reasons. He was a slave trader, investigated for war crimes and founded the KKK.
