I'm willing to take a guess that 95% of the people who drink, and have posted in this thread, have operated a vehicle following the consumption of one of more alcoholic beverage.

Just a guess

Not sure how that would apply to a minor.

shite, not even that. Probably got up from a night of heavy drinking and were still intoxicated.

Which could easily be this situation. Alcohol stays in your system a lot longer than people would like to believe.

Incredibly sad. The parents of the deceased girl entered the gates of hell today and won't be freed until their own deaths.

I'm more interested to find out if he's related to Ryan Perilloux. Wasn't RP from Reserve or somewhere around there?

I don't defend this man...because he apparently didn't care about other people's lives and didn't drive well, and killed someone. Lock his arse up for 50 years for all I care.

I take pride in driving safe, and respect other people and make sure I don't kill them with my truck. It has absolutely nothing to do with whether I've been drinking though. If I drank enough that the chances of me hurting or killing someone increased, then I wouldn't drive.

This killing has nothing to do with drinking and everything to do with this man having no respect for the lives of others.

I don't drink and drive anymore ftr.

B) Even if I had, there's a difference between being a habitual idiot and making a mistake and seeing the error in your ways. If you're (not you specifically) going to defend it simply because you've been guilty of it before, see my previous post.

I quit drinking after i almost killed myself drunk driving. Smart enough to learn a lesson but most people are stupid so.

The man wasn't drunk - he may have been under the influence of an undisclosed narcotic. He swerved to avoid stopped traffic from what I read. The girl unfortunately wasn't wearing her seatbelt. Depending on the narcotic, this may have just been a common, tragic accident/

If you don't mind me asking, what happened?

My views on drinking and driving get shite on around here. But I'm 100% positive that I'd never put myself in the position to kill myself or others. I can't imagine deciding to drive knowing I don't have the ability to function well enough to drive safe.

I have a DUI btw, and I don't mean to get be jumping your case.

If it took you almost killing yourself to learn that lesson then i think you're giving yourself a bit too much credit.

For a young girl to ascend to the pearly gates and not have to suffer on this imperfect planet as long as everyone else? Sounds turrible.

A lot of truth. Also the people who quit dwi'ing after they get caught and have one on their record.

It's such BS. It's a coping mechanism. Nothing more. And if believing that this girl was supposed to die like that, or that thousands of kids are supposed to suffer and die from cancer helps people deal, then that's fine by me. But it's still doesn't make the whole "God's plan" thing true.
