Twitter is saying the driver survived.

The impact didn’t look that bad. The theatrics of it going airborne were pretty dramatic but it landed on the wheels. Had old boy slammed into a concrete barrier it may have been a different outcome.

The video was originally posted on Twitter by a Tesla driver who caught it on video. He commented that the driver of the Kia walked away without injury.

Someone should let this guy know.

When you file that claim, the insurance adjuster would call you a liar until you provided the video proof.

fair enough

however I would like to point out that when I made my post here there was no Local News Media confirmation the accident had even happened and the KTLA article linked below was posted to their website after my TD post

KTLA reported above no serious injuries. Wow.

How do you faceplant on the freeway and not have serious injuries? That's crazy.

Look at the video again - in the initial impact after taking flight, the Soul was upside down and landed on the hood and front edge of the roof - then rolled onto the wheels and came to a rest.

I saw a car fly on Burbank Dr. in Baton Rouge about 20 years ago. Guy was driving an old Plymouth southeast bound. He was either high or not paying attention, because he veered off the road to the passenger's and hit a fairly large mound of dirt. He had to be going at least 60 mph, perhaps faster. He flew into the air, did a complete barrel roll, and miraculously landed on all 4 wheels. I called 911 immediately and went to stop a bit up the road when I saw him coming running out of the car. He had a HUGE afro which I genuinely think served as a de facto helmet as he wasn't hurt at all.

It looked like a scene on the Dukes of Hazard...except the driver was a black guy

Saw a Camaro Tbone a small SUV on ONeill--the SUV popped off the ground--shot straight up, like in a movie. All 4 doors opened, it did a full roll in the air and landed on its tires. Nobody fell out.

That tire is an a-hole.

Maybe the car said something that deserved the first hit, but the slap on the arse of the car at the end was just insult to injury.
