You need a chill bar with music that isn’t too loud and not a dance floor club.

Find one with pool tables and try to get in on a game, that’s how I meet people when out of town and want to go out. Or sit at the bar and watch sports and talk to whoever walks up or sits near you.

I went to Atomic Lounge by myself once. I made a last minute decision to go to the Tool show on a Tuesday night. I Ubered to the concert and I wanted to Uber back home, but the price had gone up from $8 to $25. I ended up walking to the atomic lounge and drank Miller High Lifes at the bar for the next hour until the Uber prices dropped.

What makes one bar good for being by yourself?

I agree the ones I went to were shite though The Atomic Lounge seemed pretty cool if you had friends there.

it sounds like you went to a club, not a bar.

going to bars alone is fun, going to the club alone isn't.

just go somewhere with tvs and sports on, sit at the bar, and then have a few drinks. when your buzz kicks in you can meet some people most of the time

Some of my greatest nights out have been when I went out alone.....

I have only been out by myself one time....and that lead to a one night stand and then to a decent friend and regular booty call. I was around 28-29 then, and she was mid to late 40's and gorgeous...good times were had....I won't say anymore. I'm married now and going out alone would be pointless.

I like sitting at airport or restaurant bars by myself. Got used to it traveling for work, but honestly it’s just to eat, maybe grab an extra beer. It was honestly relaxing.

I’ve tried to duplicate it at home but always felt like a weirdo.

There is nothing wrong with going to a neighborhood bar by yourself to have a drink, eat some wings, hang out with the locals and regulars. That’s the best.

Now going out to a live music club or dance club or a place like Razzoos by yourself, yeah that’s kinda weird.

I’d always stay in Buckhead. There’s a few there. Lennox Grill, Bistro Niko, and a Twin Peaks

Kind of my thoughts. I used to travel a lot for work, often by myself. I hate sitting in a hotel room so I'd usually find a local sports bar or some dive with food and go eat and have a few beers.

Go to a pub type place instead of a bar and there will be all kinds of folk to talk to.

It was surreal. I had a drink, got a cigarette and next thing I knew it was 3 hours later and I was getting thrown out.

To this day I have no clue what actually happened

I don't think going out to loud clubs with dance floors with thirsty fatties is the right setting to go out by yourself. Try a bit more calm setting. As others have said, a sports bar or dive bar where the music isn't blaring and you can actually carry a conversation.
